Alternatives to the Norm
What the Future Might Hold
We at Nu Range Believe that this world is filled with abundance and opportunities. That we have a chance to be both industrial and environmental, profitable yet respectful.....This page describes some of those concepts we hope to expand in the future. We need to clean our slate from what we know so that we can reimagine spaces for what they could be.
No loner are vacant lots, building roofs, sides of freeways and public right of ways only space that exists. They can become power generation, Food growing, air cleaning forests or more. This is where the time space continuum skews (Back to the Future reference) from what we know to what we can become. Once we unlock this thinking we can experience unlimited possibilities because we are no longer bound by what just is. "it is what it is" has evolved to "it is what it can be"

Energy Development
A key concept of sustainability when it comes to development is producing more energy than we use. If a house can produce more energy than it uses, then it is providing something back to the environment and the community. In this way a development becomes an engine vs existing as a leach on the grid. Incorporating renewable power into our developments is a cornerstone of Nu Range Development, however our vision extends beyond that.
Vacant city lots, empty building roofs, and public right always are currently being under utilized. Imagine freeways and rail road tracks lined with solar collectors or thin flexible solar panels lining the top of a stadium roof . When we truly take a look around we will find there is an abundance of space that is just hanging around under utilized and ripe for taking advantage of. By developing these spare spaces we can truly enhance not only communities but entire cities. Transforming our way of life from one scarcity to one of abundance. Through land leases along with temporary developments we can make use of of this land without permanently removing it from other future uses.

Urban Farming
We hold a belief that urban and vertical farming are a key if not the most important piece to solving many of the environmental and health issues we face.
Soil degradation and loss, non-point source pollution and runoff, emissions from long distance transportation, food waste, water challenges and scarcity. The list goes on and on. Producing healthy food close to the source will not only help eliminate food waste, but also hunger, carbon emissions, and pollution. Many farm lands could be returned to their natural state of being with no need to constantly till or degrade our soils.
We could reclaim huge amounts of land that can become forests and prairies again. Just think of what that could do for enhancing biodiversity, supporting native animal populations, soil microbes and so much more. Where in cities farms and populations can grow up we would have more land for everyone just waiting for us outside the city limits. Can you imagine that healthy and abundant of a planet? We just need to move the farms to the cities, this is needs to be the future of our planet if we hope to have a healthy, thriving, abundant earth. Doing things just because its the way we have always done them cant be the way of the world anymore.
Simple: Grow healthy food right where the people and the water are.
